Snowflake Summit 2026 was dense. Four keynotes, dozens of feature announcements, two product rebrands, and a vision for the future that's hard to absorb in a single sitting.

As a Snowflake Elite Services Partner — and with our team's Data Superhero early access to many of these features — we've spent the week breaking down what was announced into what it means for your team.

We’re starting with this summary, highlighting some of the most interesting things we heard on Day One.  Coming soon will be individual articles breaking these features down into more detail; specifically answering the following questions: what was announced, why should you care, and what should you do about it.

Here's what we've published so far.

The Big Two

Snowflake CoCo Desktop: GA Today Snowflake's AI coding agent is now a native desktop app — generally available, not preview. Plus, plugins for VS Code, Excel, Cursor, and Claude Code. Scored 72.1% on ADE-Bench (vs 65.1% for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex), using 51% fewer tokens. If your team builds on Snowflake daily, this changes the workflow.

Snowflake Datastream: Kafka-Compatible Streaming, Built In: A fully managed streaming service native to Snowflake. Kafka-compatible. No clusters. No connectors. Your existing producers point at Datastream instead of Kafka, and data lands in Snowflake tables in seconds. Private Preview soon — but the implications for teams running Kafka-to-Snowflake pipelines are massive.

AI for Business Users

Snowflake CoWork: Every Business User Gets a Personal Agent: Formerly Snowflake Intelligence, now rebranded and fully GA. Skills, MCP connectors, Deep Research, mobile app, reusable artifacts — all production-ready. The interface that makes your data investment accessible to the 90% of your org that won't learn SQL.

CoWork Personal Work Engine: Your Agent Gets Memory The announcement within the announcement. Personal memory, multi-agent orchestration, personal skills, scheduled automations, and Cortex Sense (which nearly doubles accuracy to 83%). This is the vision for AI that learns how you work and acts proactively.

Security & Governance

AI Security: Five Layers for the Agentic Era: Not one feature — a full stack. AI Guardrails (GA), Agent Identity (public preview), Data Exfiltration Protection, Ransomware Protection with multi-party approvals, and AI Security Posture Management in Trust Center. If you're deploying agents, this is how you govern them.

Horizon Context – Your Metadata Finally Becomes Useful: The governed context layer for AI, BI, and apps. Metadata connectors pull from Postgres, Tableau, Power BI, and dbt. Semantic View Autopilot builds your semantic layer from existing assets. And CoCo automatically discovers and uses it. The end of "which revenue table should I use?"

For Builders

CoCo Plugins + Code Bundles = Snowflake Everywhere You Work: The plugin ecosystem (Excel, VS Code, Claude Code) plus Code Bundles — run Python and Java directly in Snowflake without stored procedure wrappers. Public Preview is available now.

Cortex AI Platform – Functions Studio, SpaceX Models, and Agentic Search: Create your own custom AI functions. Access SpaceX models natively. Search your data estate in natural language. Cortex is becoming a platform you build on, not just a set of pre-built features.

Real-Time ML: Training, Streaming Features, and A/B Testing: The full ML lifecycle inside Snowflake. Fine-tune LLMs with Cortex Training, serve features in real-time with Streaming Feature Views, and run native A/B tests on model versions. For teams stitching together Snowflake + SageMaker + a feature store — this is the consolidation path.

Snowsight Pipeline Builder – See Your Pipeline: A visual representation of your data pipeline, directly in Snowsight. Private Preview. Simple in concept, powerful in practice — especially for onboarding, debugging, and stakeholder communication.

Coming Soon

We're still writing up several more announcements from Summit, including: - Snowflake AIM (AI-assisted migration from Teradata and Spark) - Interoperable Lakehouse and the "Liberation of Data" - Adaptive Compute (GA soon) - Cost governance enhancements - Observe by Snowflake
