
Alison has deep expertise in the development and application of optimization and data science solutions. She possesses extensive knowledge of optimization solvers and has a strong background in the oil and gas industry. Alison is particularly interested in ensuring that technical solutions drive real-world decisions by focusing on interpretability, explainability, and practical deployment.
Before joining Aimpoint, Alison held roles at Gurobi Optimization and ExxonMobil. At Gurobi, she led the Americas Expert Team, advised clients on solver best practices, and helped shape outreach and technical education initiatives. At ExxonMobil, she developed and supported a wide range of data science and optimization projects spanning pricing, trading, operations, and real-time optimization, and was recognized with the company’s highest technical honor for her contributions.
Alison earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, where her research focused on combining machine learning with optimization techniques. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
Outside of work, Alison enjoys pampering her dog, Echo; picking up new skills at her local makerspace; and exploring nature with an eye for the unexpected.
