Juan Felipe Agudelo Velez

Juan Felipe is a Mathematical Engineer focused on optimization and advanced analytics for business impact. He specializes in process mining, machine learning, and operations research, translating mathematical theory into production systems that drive better decision-making with experience across the aviation, insurance, and supply chain industries.

Prior to joining Aimpoint, Juan Felipe worked as a Supply Chain Consultant at Ofi Services, where he designed process mining solutions in Celonis to track gross margin exposure and identify millions in at-risk working capital for global manufacturing clients. As an Actuarial Analyst at Suramericana Colombia — Colombia's largest insurance group — he built machine learning and survival analysis models in Python on Databricks to enhance reserve accuracy, and reduced actuarial computation time by 98% by rethinking the underlying algorithm mathematically.

Juan Felipe is based in Medellín, Colombia, where he is pursuing an MSc in Applied Mathematics on a full scholarship, researching optimization algorithms for energy systems. Outside of work, he can be found bouldering, playing guitar or practicing cardistry and origami.
