Rhys Francis

Rhys is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with over 6 years of experience across the full data lifecycle, spanning Machine Learning & AI Engineering, Data Engineering, Cloud Platform Engineering, Data science, BI, and Analytics. Rhys integrates deep technical capability with a rigorous software engineering foundation, delivering clean, production-grade code in Python and SQL. He ensures the integrity of the AI lifecycle by implementing robust versioning for code, data, and models through tools like MLflow, Git, and containerization. He is proficient in every stage of the pipeline - from architecting scalable data infrastructure to establishing automated CI/CD and drift monitoring within enterprise MLOps frameworks.​

Prior to joining Aimpoint, Rhys was Lead Data Scientist & AI Specialist at TalkTalk, where he served as the technical lead for ML & AI initiatives. He established their enterprise MLOps framework, introduced CI/CD pipelines and containerization, and delivered over £10m in annual business impact through applied ML and GenAI products. He is proficient in both traditional and Deep Learning frameworks and holds an MSc in Computer Science with Data Science (Distinction) from the University of Sunderland and previously studied chemistry at Sheffield Hallam university.
