Sales Forecasting Sigma App Replaces $150K+ per Year Platform
Aimpoint Digital migrated a leading design and collaboration software company's sales forecasting from Clari to Sigma, expanding pipeline visibility from roughly 100 reps to all 300 while consolidating reporting into a single enterprise BI platform.

The Challenge
A leading design and collaboration software company relied on Clari as its primary sales forecasting and pipeline management tool. At an annual cost exceeding $150,000, Clari licenses covered only about one-third of the roughly 300-person sales organization. The remaining two-thirds of reps had no direct access to pipeline metrics, forecast status, or deal progression data.
This created significant operational friction, requiring managers to routinely export and redistribute Clari reports to non-licensed team members – a manual process that quickly became outdated as metrics required updating. Version control suffered, alignment across individual contributors, managers, directors, and VPs became difficult, and the forecasting process could not scale with the organization's growth.
The company had recently selected Sigma as its enterprise BI platform and centralized sales data in Salesforce, creating an opportunity to assess Sigma as a replacement for Clari. It needed a solution that could reduce cost, extend visibility across the full sales organization, and simplify the reporting experience without disrupting critical forecasting workflows.
Our Approach
Aimpoint Digital deployed a dedicated Sigma development team to assess, rebuild, and consolidate the forecasting environment over a four-month engagement.
App Feasibility Assessment and Data Validation: The engagement began with a structured assessment of Clari's forecasting workflows to determine whether the functionality could be recreated in Sigma as a data app. Aimpoint partnered with the client's lead data engineer and several Sales Managers to review the underlying Salesforce data and confirm it could support the required forecasting and pipeline metrics. This process identified four core Clari dashboards as candidates for migration.
Reverse Engineering and Metric Standardization: Aimpoint documented and inventoried every forecasting metric used in Clari, then recreated each one in Sigma using reusable calculations and standardized definitions. Each KPI was mapped to match Clari's outputs, and a data dictionary was delivered to formalize the business logic for ongoing maintenance.
Data Layer Optimization: During development, the team worked closely with the client's data engineer to refine the data layer in Snowflake and adjust dbt transformations, improving both structure and query performance for the Sigma workbooks.
Reporting Consolidation: Before the migration, sales managers had to toggle between Clari and Sigma to access reports that overlapped in scope. Aimpoint used the migration as an opportunity to evaluate additional reporting needs and consolidate everything into a single Sigma workbook, giving managers pipeline, forecast, and performance metrics in one centralized end-user experience.
Sales Manager Training and Enablement: After development, Aimpoint conducted enablement sessions with sales managers covering both the backend logic of the dashboards and day-to-day navigation and usage, ensuring adoption from day one.
"Sigma’s vision is to eliminate fragmented, siloed SaaS workflows by consolidating the tech stack into a single, governed environment for analysis and execution. Companies should look to this success story with Aimpoint Digital as a blueprint: by replacing specialized tools with warehouse-native apps, you cut costs but also unlock limitless innovation across every team." - Justin Thomas, VP Partnerships, Sigma
Results
Forecasting and pipeline visibility expanded from roughly 100 licensed Clari users to all 300 sales reps. Individual contributors, managers, directors, and VPs now have direct access to the same core forecasting data, improving alignment across the organization and eliminating the information gap created by limited platform access.

By replacing Clari with a Sigma-based forecasting application, the client eliminated more than $150,000 in annual licensing expense. At the same time, it expanded access to forecasting tools across the full sales organization using its existing enterprise BI investment.

Forecasting dashboards were combined with existing Sigma reports into a single workbook, replacing the fragmented workflow that had required managers to switch between Clari and Sigma. Sales leadership now operates from one centralized reporting environment for pipeline, forecast, and performance metrics. The migration replaced a fragmented two-platform workflow with a single centralized reporting environment in Sigma. Forecasting, pipeline, and performance metrics now live in one place, reducing friction for sales managers and creating a more consistent experience for the broader team.

Key Takeaways
This engagement demonstrates how platform rationalization can improve both business efficiency and the end user's daily experience. By replacing Clari with Sigma, the leading design and collaboration software company eliminated $150,000+ in annual expenses, extended forecasting access to the full sales team, and replaced a two-platform workflow with a single solution.
Aimpoint's approach made that possible by treating the migration as a chance to improve, not just replicate. The result was a forecasting environment that was streamlined, integrated into the BI landscape, and extended capability beyond what it replaced – delivered in four months within the client's commercial and timeline constraints. Aimpoint's approach to Analytics Modernization prioritizes strategic alignment with our client's commercial and operational goals, ensuring that platform decisions produce capability uplift rather than just a change of tooling.
